I was listening to a song about Joseph Smith and just before his martyrdom. In this song is a phrase that I thought was interesting. Obviously I can't sing it even if I wanted to, but here is what it says: "I lived for my Savior and I'll die for Him too." I lived for my Savior. I think that is one thing that a lot of us don't get. We all say that we would die for Him because we love Him, but what if our thoughts were more directed to living for Him.
I personally know that someone loves me when they give me their time and do what I ask them! We show the Savior our love for Him by forgetting ourselves and doing His will. Which, He being the perfect example of doing His Father's will. When we do His will, we do much more than doing a good deed. We show that we are COMMITED to follow Him and do the things which He has done. When we find that we are doing His will, focusing on Him, not us. We find that at that moment, we are happy. We are working the Atonement in our lives. The Atonement was not a passive thing for Him. Why should it be passive for us?
I know that when we put our trust in God like everything depends on Him, and then work as if everything depended on us, we will be blessed! It is fact! The Lord is bound to do what he promises when we DO what he says, but when we DO NOT what He says, we have no promise. We have such mercy for us, all we have to do is what Christ has asked us. This I know, because I have seen it so much in my mission! SO MUCH! I could not do the things I'm doing without His help. I love Him, I'm grateful to Him, I want to be like Him in so many ways. I pray that we will all start living for Him. I testify of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
